Hey y’all! Hope you enjoyed yesterday’s Core + Cardio Workout. My abs are still sore! I just made it to NYC for a work conference. I love it here. Last night I checked into my hotel and caught up on some work. This morning I went to 24 Hour Fitness in Midtown for a 30/60/90 HIIT class. It’s really crazy to be here in the city (in the Financial District specifically) on 9/11. I remember the horrible event like it was yesterday. I was a Senior in high school and we watched the 2nd plane on TV – we couldn’t believe our eyes. On a positive note, I remain so amazed by the resilience and perseverance of the families and friends who lost loved ones. We are so much stronger than we think…
I’m feeling generous today so I’ve decided to randomly giveaway one of my signature GRIT by Brit tank tops. You can choose either the black or the blue – whatever style you prefer. To enter to win, just post comment below sharing what “GRIT” means to you. You guys know what GRIT means to me, but I’d love to hear your point of view and personal stories. Also, I’m a big fan of learning from each other, so let’s spread some gritty love and words of wisdom. I’ll announce the winner next week, September 19th, in my Fitness Fashion Friday post. Be sure to include your email if it’s not already linked to your comment profile so I can contact you for your mailing address and tank top size. Good luck! luv, Brit

Just heard about your Saturday Pi-Yo class at the W. Hopefully I’ll be there this Saturday! GRIT to me means perseverance no matter what. Sometimes I mistake lack of progress for inertia, but it’s not inertia, it’s just a situation requiring an extraordinary amount of GRIT. Finishing my PhD definitely took GRIT, as did getting back into shape (after surviving grad school). Love your blog!
AWESOME! and huge congrats on finishing your PhD – I hope to meet you on Saturday, please say hi 🙂
Grit means getting up and at it again, even after falling a few times.
Love blending health and fitness. Busy mom and professional but it’s better balancing for a better you. Love to rock a tank!
agreed – health and fitness go hand in hand – thanks for sharing!
GRIT to me means doing what’s necessary, even if it SUCKS, to get where you want to be. Anything worth having is worth putting in the work. It means doing things right, and serving as an inspiration for others.
Amen sister! I couldn’t agree more!
This week I came across the phrase “Grit & Grace” and immediately scribbled it onto a post-it note that I keep in sight during the workday. It reminds me that to me, GRIT is that rod of steel that runs through the backbone of every woman out there kicking butt in the world, corporate, fitness or otherwise. She may greet you with a gentle smile or look perfectly polished and pulled together even during the toughest times but the thing that keeps her going when she wants to stay in bed kicking and screaming and crying about the inevitable trials in her life is her inner GRIT.
Thanks so much for sharing your perspective – so eloquent! (p.s. I love your blog http://www.everydaypolish.com/)
Cute tanks! Hm…GRIT seems like it can be soo many things, I think for me it is about digging deep and pushing my limits!
Thanks for sharing, Sarah! I love all of your comments!
What Grit means to me: Pushing through to the end even though you know you could stop and rest but you don’t because you have grit, courage, resolve, strength and character. These all mean grit to me.
Hey Liana – I totally agree – thanks for the comment! I’ll post the tank top winner next Monday. In the meanwhile – show your GRIT!
To me GRIT is never giving up no matter how many times I get knocked down or how many people are against me. Have a great day, Brit!
I always love your posts…and excited that you’re having a giveaway. 🙂
To me, Grit means getting in there, digging deeper, and giving your workouts your all.
