Hey gang! Happy Wednesday. I hope your week is off to a great start! Things are good on my end. We are cracking away at GRIT Fitness leading classes and having a blast! I’m especially looking forward to this weekend because, THE Lorna Jane, founder and creator director of Lorna Jane Active is visiting Dallas! She is definitely a GIRLBO$$ I look up to. I got to connect with her last Summer at IDEA World Blogfest and she was SUPER nice and SO inspiring! So that’s one event I’m looking forward to. Additionally, I received the honor of leading a 2 group fitness classes in the Active Living Room of Lorna Jane West Village, Dallas – yay! I’ll be teaching PiYo next Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 7pm and 7:30pm at Lorna Jane West Village 3700 McKinney Ave, Dallas, TX 75204. Come out and “move, nourish, believe” with me!
And just for some added Lorna Jane fun, here’s a flashback to some of my all-time favorite LJ outfits…
Wow, I can hardly believe that 2014 is coming to an end. I hope you celebrated a relaxing, fun-filled Christmas with those you love. I did! Here’s a fun photo of me and my immediately family after dinner on Christmas Eve (eve).
My family and I are actually celebrating Christmas over 4 days. Our festivities began with family dinner on the day before Christmas Eve and then carried on to the next day during which my parents hosted their annual Christmas Eve party. We had over 60 friends and family at our house for food, drinks, dancing and singing carols. It was really fun (and really loud). Nonetheless, there’s nothing like being with family for the holidays.
On Christmas Day we drove to Tyler, TX to visit my dad’s side of the family and ate another huge Christmas Dinner. I still have a food baby from all of the pies, ham and sweet potato casserole I’ve inhaled over the past 3 days. Finally, today we are ending our 4 days of Christmas celebrations with a “family bonding” day at my new fitness studio, GRIT Fitness. I’ve persuaded my mom, dad, brother and sister to give me 1 day of free labor to help touch-up paint, clean and get the changing room set up. #winning
OMG – I’m SO ready for the grand opening party on Saturday, Jan. 17th. If you live in Dallas, you MUST come. Here’s a link to the Facebook event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/900120126707617/
Okay so let me get back on topic: Fitness Fashion Friday! Hopefully, you’ve enjoyed this new weekly ritual I started this year. I plan to carry it forward into 2015. But before I bust out my cool new Winter activewear in the 2015 editions of Fitness Fashion Friday, I want to share a quick recap of my 4 favorites outfits from 2014…
Here’s links to details of my outfits above (from left to right):

Happy Fitness Fashion Friday my friends! Yay for the upcoming weekend. I have been teaching a crazy schedule this week (5 spin classes in 2 days!) So I’m VERY ready to relax and unwind this weekend. Before I head out, I want to share some photos and thoughts from a recent fitness + fashion event.
Last week I was super excited to receive an invitation to special clothing line debut from a local Dallas designer, Gail Warrior. Gail is a high-profile, Dallas-based entrepreneur and founder of The Warrior Group, a commercial general contractor, and the Heart of a Warrior Charitable Foundation. She’s also a lifelong fitness and healthy cooking enthusiast, so creating the Warrior Elements clothing line was a natural fusion of her professional experience and her personal passions for health, fitness, fashion and motivating others.
The clothing line debut took place at Equinox Preston Hollow and was super swanky. Not only did I get to check out awesome new activewear from a local Dallas designer but I also enjoyed delicious treats and “mocktails” (i.e. healthy non-alcoholic cocktails) throughout the evening.
As for the Warrior Elements clothing line, I liked the consistent theme of Earth, Wind, Fire, Water. Each item in the collection is a associated and color-coordinated with one of the elements. For instance, the blue workout clothes are a part of the Water collection. Most importantly, I loved the positive vibe I got from Gail and her team. There’s nothing more important than good energy – right?
Here are a few more photos from the evening. If you’re looking for new activewear this holiday season be sure to check out Warrior Elements. Let me know what you think! Until then, I’ll catch up with you on Monday.

Happy Fitness Fashion Friday. Coming to you today in a simple black ensemble. I added my kelly green scarf and fuchsia Nars lipstick for little pops of color. I like this outfit so much I don’t wanna get sweaty in it, hehe. Maybe I’ll wear it to dinner instead of to the gym. What do you think?
Yay for cute workout clothes! I just caught wind of this awesome yoga clothing company, Onzie! Based in California, Onzie reached out to me a few weeks ago to review some of their yoga apparel. The minute I saw their bright colors and modern designs, I was like “gimme gimme gimme!” As icing on the cake, the clothes are really high quality. I was expecting some “Forever 21-level” workout clothes, but the apparel is extremely well made and can endure a sweaty power yoga session. Buying workout clothes can get quite expensive, my friend told me to visit PromoCodeWatch to use some coupons next time I shop. She told me they save her tonnes of money so I’m going to try it soon! I love my pieces so much, I’m actually hosting a giveaway for a $75 Onzie gift card! To participate in the contest, just post a comment below and tell me your workout plans for the weekend and describe your favorite workout outfit. I’ll pick a winner on Sunday evening (4/13/14). Enjoy! xoxo, Brit
