I created this site in 2012 as a creative outlet to inspire women and share my personal journey to living a healthier lifestyle. At that point in time, I was working crazy hours in management consulting and struggling with my weight. Fortunately, I discovered group fitness and fell in love which led me to getting a side hustle as a fitness instructor and launching my blog, GRIT by Brit.
In 2014, I took a leap of faith and quit my long-term corporate consulting career to open my own fitness studio in Dallas, GRIT Fitness! It’s a dream come true but also a bit of a whirlwind. I’m growing SO much in my new role a business owner and full-time people leader of over 80 employees and staff.
Authoring this blog, teaching fitness classes and leading my organization keeps me accountable for living a healthy lifestyle and positive attitude – I have to practice what I preach. Over the years I’ve learned that pushing myself through intense physical fitness makes me better in all aspects of my life – my corporate career, relationships, spirituality and mental health.
