WHAT SHE SAID CONFERENCE | Dallas, TX

I’m so excited to announce that my company, GRIT Fitness, is partnering with W Dallas Hotel to host the first WHAT SHE SAID women’s empowerment conference in Dallas. WHAT SHE SAID is a new global speaker series featuring inspirational women from the worlds of fashion, fitness, music, tech, media and more. W is giving these incredible women at the top of their game a platform to share their personal stories at W Hotels around the world, inviting attendees to mix, mingle in true W style, over cocktails and incredible music!

I’ve partnered with the W Dallas – Victory for several fitness / social events over the past 4 years including Cardio and Cocktails and Flexin’ Flow on the WETDECK!  I love the hip, creative vibe of the hotel so I though it would be the perfect location to host a women’s conference!  I mean look at this ah-mazing conference space!  AND we got some awesome local, #GIRLBOSS interior designers to decorate the panels with super chic styles.

Main Conference Room – Great Room Meeting
Breakout – Industry Classroom

Over 80% of the speakers are members of the #GRITFAM (GRIT Fitness community).   I had strong passion to host a conference this year because I want young ladies to connect outside of the gym and have “real talk” about turning their passions into action.  This event is not limited to GRIT members ALL ARE WELCOME and we hope you decide to join the fun!  Here are the details…

My Amazing Night at Jay-Z and Beyonce On the Run Tour #Yonce #Hova #Flawless #SPGlife

Image: Me and my clique (my mom on the left) chillin’ before the concert – 7/22/14 – Dallas, TX

To wrap up my birthday festivities, a group of my Dallas friends (including my parents) went to the Beyonce’ & Jay-Z On the Run Tour last night.  First off I have to give HUGE shout out to my family at the W Dallas Hotel for hooking me up for floor seats to the concert!  Fortunately, my double duty life, which includes weekly business travel as a management consultant, has earned me Platinum Status at Starwood hotels – sure pays off in times like these.  I got to live the #SPGlife with an up close and personal night with Beyonce’ and Jay-Z!  It was the ultimate belated birthday gift.

I don’t want to spoil the show for those of you planning to see it in the coming weeks, but I had a such a good time I have to share just a little bit.  Overall, it’s one of the best concerts I’ve ever attended – up there with Michael Jackson (I went to his concert when I was 7 – real talk).

Bring your dancing A game and lots of energy because J & B go hard non-stop, for 2.5 hours singing all of your favorite jams.  My legs are like jello today from jumping around to “99 Problems” then shakin’ to “Single Ladies.”  I loved that Yonce and Hova went back and forth doing their own thing, each singing their classic hits, but of course they brought it home together with several duets like Holy Grail, Partition, Drunk in Love and Crazy in Love…sigh.  The videos of their adorable family are so precious – I think every girl in the stadium was like “that’s my dream life.”  hehe   There’s just something so sexy about a thug – am I right ladies?  We all wanna be ‘ride or die chicks’!  Anyway, here a few pics from the evening.  Enjoy and have a wonderful week!  xoxo, Brit

Spring Time Running Playlist and Sporteer Running Arm Bands

Brit’s Spring Running Playlist

In case you can’t tell, I’m SO excited that Winter is over!  This Spring I’m taking a personal vow to switch up my workout routine by adding in a weekly 5K run.   Obviously, I made a heart-pumpin playlist to energize my stride!  Go ahead and download these tracks for yourself – you will love them 🙂

Also, I want to give a huge shout out to Sporteer for hooking me up with this sweet running armband.  It has a little pocket to store my credit card and my iPhone fits perfectly.  It’s super durable and stays in place during my run.  Sporteer gave me an extra armband for one of you lucky blog readers – woo hoo!  Just post a comment below telling me your favorite running song and I’ll pick a pick a winner this weekend!  Enjoy!  xoxo, Brit

Jammin’ Cardio Playlist – Wake Up and Workout!

rise and shine

I’ve been teaching spinning for 3 months now and I absolutely love it.  Picking out songs and making my ride playlist is so fun – it’s always a party up in my class!  I’m especially proud of the playlist I’m jammin’ to right now, so I wanted to share it with you guys.  I even included some activity ideas to spice up your cardio workout.  You can use this playlist and do the activities on pretty much any piece of cardio equipment – doesn’t have to be a bike.

Also, I highly encourage you to get this playlist going and workout in the morning – I’m a huge fan of AM workouts.  I find that they set a positive tone for my day and keep me accountable.  Anything can happen in the evening (i.e. working late, feeling tired, dinner plans, etc.) so morning workouts are more certain.  Also, some studies show that morning workouts are better for weight loss.  They claim that working first thing in the morning, before eating breakfast, forces us to burn more fat since there is no food in our stomachs to use as fuel.  Try it yourself and see what you think – enjoy your sweat session!  Lots of luv, Brit
